DARKNESS by Karen Robards

***LIVE***

You really can’t go wrong with anything by Karen Robards but I think this might be one of my favorites. Full of pulse pounding action, this thriller will keep you eagerly turning pages. Great mix of action and romance. Definitely recommend!

New York Times bestselling author Karen Robards continues her penchant for “fantastic storytelling” (RT Book Reviews) with this next heart-pumping romantic suspense novel, the tale of a brilliant ornithologist trapped on the remote Attu Island in Alaska, fighting for her life—and that of a handsome stranger—before they’re swallowed up in darkness forever.

BOOM. That’s the sound that changes everything for Dr. Gina Sullivan, a renowned ornithologist on a group research grant trip on the remote island of Attu, Alaska. When an everyday outing turns sinister at the onset of one of Attu’s infamous storms, Gina expects thunder and lightning—but what she doesn’t see coming is the small jet plane that drops out of the sky and into the water mere feet from her boat. Even more unprecedented: there’s a sole survivor from the crash, and he needs Gina’s help. But it turns out that rescuing the stranger and getting them both out of the oncoming storm is just the beginning. Because the more Gina learns about James “Cal” Callahan, he of brooding eyes and muscled frame, the more she fears—for herself, and for him.
Cal has made a career of trading on government secrets and emerging unscathed—until a routine pickup goes horribly wrong and lands him in ice-cold water. Literally. He knows the plane crash was no accident and that there could very well be an enemy force currently combing the Alaskan island ensuring there were no survivors. Now if only the arrestingly beautiful bird-watcher with the clear-blue gaze would stop watching him, well, like a hawk. Cal convinces Gina to return to base camp and help him covertly get off the island. But when Gina makes it safely back to camp and finds her entire team murdered, all bets are off, and as darkness envelops the island, she must decide: trust a man she barely knows, or go it alone and risk running straight into the arms of a killer?

Review of HAWKE by Sawyer Bennett

You really can’t go wrong with anything by Sawyer Bennett and HAWKE is definitely oh so right! Love all of the “Cold Fury” series books but this one is definitely one of my favorites.
The characters are engaging andyou can’t help but falling into the story of second chance romance. This book has the perfect mix of hot and steamy; laughter; tears; and will keep you hungrily turning pages to find out what happens next.

Definitely recommend!_____________________

Description

The New York Times bestselling hockey series featuring the Carolina Cold Fury continues as the team’s most notorious party animal gets blindsided by the one that got away.

Off the ice, elite defenseman Hawke Therrien enjoys his fair share of booze and good times. And why shouldn’t he? He’s worked his way up from the minor leagues and made himself a star. The only thing Hawke misses from that life is the pierced, tattooed free spirit who broke his heart without so much as an explanation. She’s almost unrecognizable when she walks back into his life seven years later—except for the look in her eyes that feels like a punch to the gut.

Vale Campbell isn’t the same girl she was at twenty. As crazy as she was about Hawke, her reckless behavior and out-of-control drinking were starting to scare her. She had to clean up her act, and that would never happen with Hawke around. Cutting him loose was the hardest thing Vale ever had to do—until now. Because she’s still crazy about Hawke. And if he could ever learn to forgive her, they just might have a future together.

Review of LOVE IN B MINOR by Elodie Nowodazkij

***Available NOW***

Author, Elodie Nowodazkij, does it again in her latest story in the “Broken Dreams” series, LOVE IN B MINOR. I enjoyed Jen’s character in the previous books of the series and was happy that she finally got her own story. I enjoyed watching her grow and develop and really come into her own. Definitely would recommend the entire series but this one is my new favorite!

Description

No promises. No fake tomorrows. That was the plan.

New city. New life. At least, that’s what nineteen-year-old Jen Harrison believes. On the surface, she’s living her dream: dancing in a prestigious dance company in Paris. But her sister’s death and the mistakes she’s tried to bury haunt her. She’s become a pro at hiding who she truly is, and she definitely doesn’t want a guy to derail her, but a one night-stand she can do. Nothing more. She definitely doesn’t plan to see the sexy stranger who made her laugh for the first time in years ever again.
Girls don’t walk away from Lucas Wills. Bad boy turned rock star, he’s got his share of groupies. Always upfront, he doesn’t promise fake tomorrows because love can destroy everything. Been there, done that. His ex not only lied to him, she stomped on his heart, used him to become famous, and almost ruined him. So, waking up alone after a night beyond his wildest imagination with a girl he just met shouldn’t upset him, shouldn’t inspire one of the saddest songs he’s ever written, shouldn’t make him want to chase after her.
When Jen, the one-night stand who got away, auditions to be a dancer in Lucas’ next music video, they can’t stop their growing attraction. But Jen’s secrets and his ex could shatter the careers they tried so hard to build and their hearts…they will have to decide what’s more important and if love is worth the fight.
Love in B Minor is the third standalone novel in Elodie Nowodazkij’s Broken Dreams series.

She’s out of his league…

This Entangled Teen Crush book contains adult language, swoon-worthy kisses, and sexy hockey players. It may cause you to watch a hockey game…or ten.
Sixteen-year-old Claudia Waring has never kissed a boy. Never been popular. Never been to a hockey game. All that’s about to change. Assigned to tutor Chris Winslow, a prank-loving, gorgeous hockey player, Claudia’s perfectly planned life immediately veers off course. And she kind of likes it. But as fun as Chris is, she knows she’ll never fit in his world.
After his latest prank lands him in hot water, Chris has to get serious about school or lose hockey. Not an easy thing for someone as carefree as the defenseman. The biggest problem, though, is how much he wants to help his cute, buttoned-up tutor loosen up a little. But while confidence has never been a problem for him, around Claudia, Chris is all nerves. Why would a girl as smart as her ever fall for a jock like him?

Review of MELTING HIS ALASKAN HEART by Rebecca Thomas

***Available NOW***

What happens when a relationship starts out with a lie? Is there any hope? What if you went to bed thinking you were sleeping with one person and woke up with another?

MELTING HIS ALASKAN HEART by Rebecca Thomas starts out with one of the main characters, Ethan, impersonating Dane his NHL playing brother at a charity event and crossing paths with a reporter hot on the heels of an exclusive interview with Dane. This story has lots of ups and downs as the two characters, Ethan and Carly, work to see if they can overcome their unconventional start, and Ethan’s painful past, to forge a real relationship. The story is full of struggle, laughter, romance, and it is easy to fall in love with the characters. Definitely recommend! Looking forward to reading more in this series.

Description

When Ethan Forrester’s hockey star brother begs him to take his place at a masquerade fundraiser due to illness, Ethan grudgingly agrees to help the cause. After all, he’ll be wearing a mask that covers the scar across his eye. No one will know his true identity.

Sports journalist Carly Hughes will do whatever it takes to procure the interview no one else can get from the NHL Stanley cup winning captain. After a few drinks she confesses her need for an exclusive interview or she’ll be fired. Ethan knows his brother as well as he knows himself—spilling a few details should keep the man’s privacy intact—mostly.

However, when their interview moves to the penthouse suite, Ethan tries to explain he’s not the Forrester brother she’s looking for, but Carly insists he keep his mask on.

Daylight brings some harsh truths, and a serious hangover. Carly not only forgot to record her interview, but she wakes up with a stranger in her bed. Or was this case of mistaken identity the best thing that’s ever happened to her?

Review of RISKING IT ALL by Christi Barth

***NEW RELEASE***

A fun, romantic, and quirky read that will leave you wanting more! Luckily, RISKING IT ALL, is part of a new series by author Christi Barth so we can look forward to more of these great characters. It’s hard not to fall in love with Griffin (sexy hero Coast Guard helicopter pilot) and Chloe (missive writing homebody with her own hero/survival story). They both have traumatic pasts that still shape their lives today that they deal with in different ways. It is great to watch both characters grow and come together. Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the series has in store! Definitely recommend.

Description

Who doesn’t love Naked Men? In Christi Barth’s irresistible series, a group of close-knit friends talk out their problems with naked honesty on a popular blog. Bonded by a high-school tragedy, they’re moving on from the past—and fighting for the future with strong and sassy women.

Griffin Montgomery helps people. As a teenager, he kept his best friends alive after their soccer team’s bus crashed in the Alps. Now, as a Coast Guard search and rescue pilot, he saves lives with reckless abandon—until he goes too far and earns a lengthy suspension. Working on the Naked Men projects keeps his mind busy, but Griff’s itching to get back in the action. That’s when he finds his latest rescue mission: a pretty wallflower who’s stuck in her comfort zone.

Chloe Widmore doesn’t take risks. As a professional letter writer, she gets enough excitement out of expressing other people’s emotions. So when the hottest man she’s ever seen invades her coffee shop, Chloe surprises herself with how much she wants to be with him. Routines make her feel safe. Griff makes her deliciously unsafe, in so many ways. But falling for him is one risk she might just have to take . . . whether she’s ready or not.
